A six-week course designed to provide the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to establish a garden in any available space—from a house patio to a balcony or terrace. Throughout the learning process, each stage is addressed step by step, from sowing to production, integrating principles of agroecological production and regenerative agriculture. This training offers practical tools to grow food sustainably, strengthening the connection with the surrounding environment and promoting environmentally responsible practices.
This course is organized into five sections:
- General introduction to the training, where the course’s learning objectives are presented and explored in relation to food security, food sovereignty, and environmental stewardship.
- Criteria for garden location and soil or substrate preparation, providing the foundations needed to create healthy growing conditions.
- Sowing, including species selection, consideration of beneficial plant associations, and an overview of different sowing methods, supporting informed and sustainable decision-making.
- Garden management and care, describing the essential practices required to ensure healthy plant growth and optimal development.
- Harvesting, with special attention to indicators of crop maturity, as well as appropriate harvesting and storage practices when necessary.
Who is it aimed at?
This course is intended for youth and adults who wish to take a step toward the conscious production of their own food. Through a practical and sustainable approach, it encourages responsible resource use, strengthens the relationship with the land, and fosters active participation in environmental care.
Required dedication
This course runs for 6 weeks and requires an estimated additional commitment of 1 hour per week, beyond the scheduled Zoom session.
