With more than five decades of experience in Colombia, FUNDAEC works to strengthen education and support community transformation processes, convinced that learning can open up new opportunities and become a driver of social change.
Today, this legacy is part of the ShiftED Alliance: Accelerator for Shifting Gender Norms through Education, an international alliance of organizations from Africa, Asia, and Latin America that seeks to transform gender norms and relationships through education, particularly among adolescents and young people.
The initiative is rooted in a fundamental conviction: education can transform the ideas and norms that shape the aspirations, relationships, participation, safety, well-being, and opportunities of new generations.
Within this framework, the alliance is developing a global process to understand how adolescents perceive gender roles and norms in their daily lives, generating evidence that will enable the design of transformation strategies relevant to different cultural and linguistic contexts.
FUNDAEC was selected from among only 12 organizations worldwide to lead this pilot project, helping to validate a multilingual and cross-cultural survey that will reach 25,000 adolescents.
Our participation brings more than 50 years of educational and community experience to a global effort that seeks to generate evidence, build capacity, and pave the way toward more equitable and transformative relationships.
